What's a girl to do? Build a railway, that's what.

I got my very first "come get your kid" call from the daycare today. The rest of the conversation concerned the fluid loss that he was evidently experiencing via various channels. Gross.

So, yeah poor baby. Except that I got there and he was all "hey momma, wanna play choo-choo and eat some pizza, then maybe pretend not to assault the cat???". And I was all "ummm, WTF?". I left work for a happy, playful baby. Now don't get me wrong, I like him, I REALLY like him. Yeah ok, I love him. But really? Can we panic more? I guess I neglected to mention that Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease is in his daycare room. Oh joy.

So whatever, we played, watched 3 straight hours of Thomas. THAT was fun. I fed his happy little self and forced him to take a nap. Then I assembled his railway system on two gigantic boards, thankfully he has a playroom to house this thing. I still have to paint it and accessorize (mountains, houses and various other things), but otherwise I've been productive.

I suppose I busied myself to distract from the fact that my workload is relatively nuts right now, I have FAR TOO MUCH TO DO to be sitting here staring at a roll of astro turf and various miniature farm animals. So, the plan is to make my husband get up after 6 hours of sleep (It's his "Friday" coming off nights) and go back to work until the computer shuts downI think about 7pm, and considering I was already planning a late night tomorrow, I think I'll just bring a sleeping bag.

That sounds like some train track thing you've got going on there - mountains and trees and mini animals?! You must post a picture when it's all done.

And, the good thing is that C will have gotten all these diseases and have built up an immunity to them not have to have them when he goes to school..he won't have to miss a day!
